WHO AM I?
I began my career working in the automotive industry as a service advisor, parts delivery driver, parts counter clerk and more. I successfully graduated with an Automotive Marketing & Administration Diploma. After a few years I realized I wanted more and went back to school. I successfully graduated university with an Honours Bachelor of Arts and Science majoring in English. I took two certificate courses to teach English as a Second Language internationally and later participated in courses at the University of Saskatchewan TESL program.
Over the years I have travelled throughout the United States of America, Canada, Mexico, Peru, Australia and many more amazing places. My husband and I traveled to South Korea in 2014 where we lived and traveled for 2 years. While in Asia we also went to China, Japan, and the Philippines.
Since returning to Canada in 2016 I have focused on my professional development. I have successfully become an independent online ESL tutor, learning and implementing entrepreneurial business practices to keep my business running smoothly. I have worked as the administration manager for my local Chamber of Commerce, I have been an apprentice as an Early Years Child Development Practitioner, and I am currently volunteering with local support groups for refugees to Canada.
As my years working with the international community go by, I realize how important a local perspective is in helping newcomers in Canada. My goal is to use my experience working with different cultures to help those who have moved to my community make a new home.
